Six no-alcohol zones have been designated in Brayton – the first areas of this kind in the Selby District.

These have been introduced as a result of new legislation, which gives the Police the powers to seize alcohol and charge nuisance drinkers with a criminal offence.

The areas are: The Village Green, Brayton Barff, land around the Community Centre, Holmefield Vets Car Park, the Canal Footpath and Dawson’s Car Park.
